I know the title of my book, A Coffee Pot and a Resentment: The Committee in My Head is Now in Session, seems to be a strange title to many of you, but recovering alcoholics who see this will nod their head in understanding, however, this book is not just for alcoholics. We all have similar experiences, but alcoholics interpret them differently. We see through alcoholic eyes, we hear with alcoholic ears, and we translate everything with an alcoholic brain. In recovery we learn how to process life's events by working the twelve steps, and sharing our experience, strength and hope with each other. It is also during these times that we consume enough coffee to keep us awake for the entire first year of sobriety.

I've always wanted to write this book, but not while my parents were still living. They simply would not understand my interpretation of childhood and adulthood experiences, and feel I was blaming them for the course my life took. This couldn't be farther from the truth. I do not blame them; this is not a book of blame, but simply a sharing of life's experiences on my journey to live on life's terms. Enjoy!
